Interpreting Course
An ideal course for students with no interpreting
experience as well as those with some experience
of interpreting who are interested in a professional standard of training.
The beginners course is aimed at improving language skills in addition to teaching basic interpreting.
The intermediate course focuses on professional training including experience of consecutive
and simultaneous interpreting.
To add more depth to the course weekly classes alternate between English to Japanese and Japanese to English.
We also emphasise revision work to attain a higher standard of interpreting skills.
This is especially recommended for students wishing to become either in-house, freelance or bilingual interpreters. Students taking the part time day class must take the full interpreting module.
- Interpreting Class DI1 - Beginners Japanese to English/English to Japanese
Students begin by interpreting short phrases into Japanese, gradually interpreting longer sentences as the term progresses. This is known as a step by step method. Japanese instructors will check students interpretation, vocabulary and accuracy.
